Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has hailed his side's 2-1 win away at Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon, explaining the Whites have a duty to their faithful supporters to try to win every game.

Redfearn's men went into the clash at Hillsborough on a run of five consecutive defeats and looked to be heading for another loss when Wednesday took the lead in the 38th minute through a Chris Maguire penalty.

Leeds though rallied in the second half and drew level in the 57th minute when Charlie Taylor took advantage of a scramble following a Luke Murphy free-kick.

And the Whites, who enjoyed the better of the match, pulled ahead when Steve Morison struck in the 72nd minute. Morison saw his first attempt saved, but took advantage of the rebound to find the back of the net and register his second goal in two games.

Leeds claimed a 2-1 win which Redfearn feels they fully merited, telling LUTV: "Very good performance. I thought we were the better side even at 1-0 down. I thought the decisions, the penalty for us and against us were dubious, but having seen them back the referee got them spot on.

"The performance merited a win. The understanding of the lads of how to play on this surface, they got it spot on."

The head coach also saluted Leeds' 3,000 travelling supporters, explaining that his players have a duty to always give their all, despite there being nothing left to play for this season.

"Our supporters live it. They live it every week. They go to work, all geared towards going to Elland Road or going away on a Saturday and it's their lives.

"We've got a duty to ensure we do as much as we can to win every game we play in. The commitment is there. The supporters can see it. They aren't daft and they can see what's happening", Redfearn added.
