Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he has always felt Leicester City have a good squad and insists that he would not be surprised if Nigel Pearson's side manage to attain Premier League safety.

The Foxes have managed to pull themselves up from the relegation zone and are currently 17th in the league table, thanks to four back-to-back wins in the league.

And as Mourinho's men prepare to visit the King Power Stadium on Wednesday, with the aim of reaching one step closer to the much coveted Premier League title, the Portuguese insists that coming away with all three points isn't going to be easy.

Having already faced them once earlier in the season, Mourinho is well aware of the kind of threat that Leicester City might pose for his team.

The 52-year-old also revealed that he was rather surprised with the Foxes' bad position in the league. But now they are out of the relegation zone, the former Real Madrid boss expects them to stay in the league.

"I was surprised with their bad position", Mourinho said at a press conference.

"They are a good team with good players. I played them very early in the season at Stamford Bridge, and I could immediately feel the quality of the team.

"I am not surprised they are out of the relegation zone, and I will not be surprised when they stay in the division.

"They have lots of players. Their squad is a good squad, with options for every position, and they are playing well."

Leicester City will play four of their remaining five matches at home against teams that are nearer to the position that they are in, apart from Chelsea, a fact that Mourinho believes could work in their favour.

"They have more matches at home than away, at home to teams in the same area as them. The game against Chelsea is an extra game for them."

That said, the Chelsea manager hopes that his side can come away with all three points, which he believes would be good for the team.

"If we can get one point or three points on Wednesday it would be very good for us."
