Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has refused to be drawn on talking about reported interest in Aston Villa's Christian Benteke, PSV Eindhoven's Memphis Depay and Burnley's Danny Ings.

Rodgers has been linked with moving to take all three to Anfield in the summer transfer window and the Reds boss admits that he does need to add more teeth to his attacking options for next season.

Liverpool came up short again at the weekend when, despite dominating possession, they could not score away at West Brom and had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Rodgers was specifically asked about links with Benteke, Depay and Ings at a press conference this morning, but did not want to talk individual players.

"There are always names associated with Liverpool so it's not a surprise", Rodgers explained.

"But it's [attack] certainly an area that we need to address come the summer again, I think that's important.

"We've already got a top class striker here in young Daniel [Sturridge], when we have him fit, but he also needs help as well."

Sturridge has missed the majority of the season with injury and Rodgers confirmed he is unsure whether the striker will feature again in the current campaign.

He said: "It has been difficult for Daniel.

"It's just been one of those seasons for him where it has been very unfortunate.

"We need to get to get him back fit and consistently playing. But we will see if that's going to be this season or pre-season."

Liverpool are next in action tomorrow night when they lock horns with Hull City at the KC Stadium.
