Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has been named the PFA’s Player of the Year.

With Chelsea on the brink of winning the league title, Hazard has been voted by his fellow professionals as their player of the year.

The Belgian forward has been key to Chelsea’s success this season and his 13 goals and eight assists have played a major role in their title charge.

Hazard, who won the young player accolade last season, was handed the award in a glittering ceremony last night in London and the Belgian was naturally enthused by the honour bestowed upon him by his colleagues.

The Belgian expressed his delight at bagging the accolade. He said that he wants to further improve and is now aiming to become the best player in the world.

"I'm very happy”, Hazard was quoted as saying by the BBC.

“One day I want to be the best and what I did this season is play very well, Chelsea played very well.

"I don't know if I deserve to win but it is good for me. It is better to be voted by the players – they know everything about football.”

Hazard arrived in Chelsea in the summer of 2012 from French side Lille and has scored 48 goals and provided 46 assists in 158 appearances for the club.
