Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he has not congratulated Eden Hazard for his PFA Player of the Year award.

The Chelsea manager has always been an open critic of individual awards and has always said that for him the team achievements are more important the individual accolades.




Hazard, who has been sensational form for Chelsea this season, bagged the PFA Player of the Year award last night for his outstanding performances this term.

When asked whether he has congratulated Hazard, the Chelsea boss said in a press conference: “No.”
 


Mourinho did say that he is pleased to see the Belgian win the award and feels that he deserves the recognition but insisted that for him winning the Premier League would be more important.

He also added that he is happy for all the players who helped Hazard this season to reach the kind of levels which have brought this kind of recognition for him.

“It is more important to be champion”, Mourinho said.

“I am happy for him as he deserves it but I am also happy for all the players who helped him achieve that level.”

The Belgian forward has been key to Chelsea’s success this season and his 13 goals and eight assists have played a major role in their title charge.
