Bayern Munich honorary president Franz Beckenbauer has revealed that Jurgen Klopp will always remain a viable option for the Bavarians as their potential manager in the future.

Klopp will leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season and has already been linked with a number of coaching jobs at a number of top clubs, including Liverpool.

The 47-year-old was credited with breaking Bayern Munich’s stranglehold on the Bundesliga when he led Dortmund to two back-to-back league titles in 2011 and 2012.

However, the Bavarians quickly regained control of the German league and have been dominating the country’s football over the last few seasons.

Klopp has also been at loggerheads with Bayern Munich over a number of issues, including the way they poached some of Dortmund’s best players, but Beckenbauer feels someday the former Mainz boss might end up in the dugout at the Allianz Arena.

While he is hoping that Pep Guardiola continues at Bayern Munich for a long time to come, the Germany legend believes Klopp's name will be considered if the Spaniard leaves the club in the future.

“Klopp is definitely an option at Bayern”, Beckenbauer told Sky Deutschland.

“The question is, how long Guardiola will be in Munich. I hope for a long time, but Klopp would be considered.”

The 69-year-old also revealed that Klopp’s name was discussed when he was the Bayern Munich president.

“When I was president, we often talked about Klopp and believe he would fit very well at Bayern.”
