Tottenham Hotspur custodian Hugo Lloris has expressed his delight at being able to return to action after a month but also feels that it was a good opportunity for stand-in custodian Michel Vorm, who he feels did well in his absence.

The French goalkeeper performed his duties between the sticks for the first time this weekend since being substituted with a knee injury in the opening moments of last month's home match against Leicester City.

Vorm, who took up the responsibility in Lloris' absence, did a decent job according to the 28-year-old, managing one clean sheet in four appearances in the league.

While speaking about his happiness for his fellow goalkeeper, Lloris credited the good team spirit in the team particularly among the goalkeepers, which he believes, makes working together a lot easier.

Speaking about the feeling of returning to action against Southampton, Lloris told his club's site: "After a month it was a pleasure to come back into the team and it was a good feeling.

“My absence is part of football but it was good for Michel because he did well for the team.

"There is a good spirit in the team especially, between the goalkeepers."

The skipper also took time to speak about the disappointment of not managing a win against the Saints on Saturday, stressing that the first goal put them in a bit of trouble in the first half.

But Lloris also thinks that his team did a pretty decent job, showing real character to come from behind twice to draw the match.

"We could have done better in the first half and the first goal put us in a bit of trouble but, after that, we had a good reaction and showed character to come back twice, so that was positive."
