Juan Mata feels Manchester United cannot afford to make any more mistakes in order to finish in the Premier League's top four.

A defeat at Chelsea last weekend was followed by another damaging 3-0 loss against Everton yesterday and though they continue to remain fourth in the league table, they could be just one point ahead of Liverpool by the time they play West Brom next Saturday.

Manchester United seemed to have booked their Champions League spot with impressive performances over the last month or so but two back-to-back losses have pegged them back.

Mata stressed that Manchester United should aim to win all their remaining four league fixtures to guarantee themselves a top four spot.

The Spanish playmaker insisted that they are confident of bouncing back against the Baggies next weekend but admits that they cannot afford to make too many more mistakes in the final stretch of the season in order to qualify for the Champions League.

“We are in the final stage of the season and we must try to win each of the remaining games. The goal is to get four wins in the last four games of the Premier League”, Mata wrote on his blog.

“We need to return all the support we get from our fans [in Goodison Park they were brilliant, once again] and we hope to do it this coming Saturday in Old Trafford against West Brom.

“We all want to be in the Champions League next season and, in order to get there, we must go back to the right path with good performances and good results. We can’t afford another game like this one."
