Aaron Ramsey believes a second place finish this season would be a sign of progress for Arsenal.

A point for Chelsea at the Emirates meant that if they beat Leicester City and Crystal Palace in their next two games then they will be crowned champions.

While Arsenal still have a mathematical chance of winning the league title, Arsene Wenger has already conceded that Chelsea will win it and Ramsey agrees with his manager.

The Welshman admits that he cannot see a scenario where Chelsea are going to drop the amount of points necessary for Arsenal to win the title and said that they are aiming to finish as runners-up this season.

With the FA Cup final on the horizon, Ramsey believes a second place finish this term would be a sign of progress for Arsenal as in recent seasons they have been battling to just finish in the top four.

“I think so. It’s going to be quite difficult for Chelsea to drop the points that we need to go top”, Ramsey told the club’s official website.

“Second probably is progression from last season definitely and from a couple of seasons where we have been battling for fourth.

“We’re in another FA Cup final so maybe you can say that’s an improvement on last season.”

Arsenal will take an away trip to the KC Stadium to take on relegation threatened Hull City next Monday.
