Arsenal have entered the race for the signature of Torino full-back Matteo Darmian, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United.

The 25-year-old Italian international has caught the imagination of some of the top European clubs with his impressive performances for Torino this season.

Darmian broke into the Italian national team last year and has now become a key member of Antonio Conte’s side with 12 international caps for the Azzurri already to his name.

Bayern Munich have been keeping a close watch on his performances at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino and Barcelona are also believed to be one of the clubs who count themselves as Darmian admirers.

Manchester United are also following Darmian’s progress as Louis van Gaal is keen on signing a right-back this summer but they are not the only English club on his tail.

According to Tuttosport, Arsenal have entered the Darmian admiration club and are believed to be keenly following his exploits in Italy.

While Arsenal do have options in the form of Mathieu Debuchy and Hector Bellerin in right-back positions, Darmian’s ability to play on both flanks is an attractive proposition for Arsene Wenger.

Though Torino have not shown any inclination to sell the Italian, a transfer fee of around €15m is expected to be enough to convince the club to sanction his sale.
