Arsenal linked French international forward Nabil Fekir is keen to stay at Lyon beyond the summer and wants to make further progress in his career at the Stade de Gerland.
The 21-year-old, who recently rejected Algeria’s overtures to pledge his allegiance to France, has been one of the stars of Hubert Fournier’s impressive Lyon team.
He has been one of the major reasons why the club are currently residing at the top of the Ligue 1 table, ahead of Laurent Blanc’s Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the impressive performances have also brought the prying eyes of some of the top European clubs on him and Arsenal are one of the sides who are keeping a close watch on the French international.
The Gunners are believed to be keen to take Fekir to north London this summer, but the player himself wants to continue at Lyon.

The Frenchman stressed that he feels settled at Lyon and is excited about the future prospects of the young Les Gones side who might be crowned French champions this season.
“I feel very good here. There is everything in Lyon, my family, my friends”, Fekir was quoted as saying by ITV.
“The staff and my team-mates have confidence in me. We have a young squad, there's a great atmosphere. That's also what makes us strong right now.”
Fekir insisted that he wants to build on an impressive campaign and with Lyon currently on course to play in the Champions League next season, the forward is keen to make further progress in his career at the club.
“I want to stay at Lyon to build on my season, while hoping that we qualify for the Champions League. There is everything for me to stay in Lyon, it's the club of my heart. I want to help it go as high as possible.
“I hope I'll be a Lyon player next season. There's no reason I won't be. I'm still a young player, I need to progress in an environment where I feel good. There is everything in Lyon.”
Fekir has notched up 29 league appearances for Lyon this season, scoring 12 goals and providing the same number of assists.
