Bayern Munich are eyeing a swoop for Borussia Dortmund midfielder and Manchester United target Ilkay Gundogan in the summer.

The Bavarians have lured away players such as Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski in the last few seasons from Dortmund and are now willing to make another move for a BVB player at the end of the season.

Dortmund midfielder Gundogan is firmly on the sights of Bayern Munich and according to Bild, the club have already established contact with the player’s representatives to discuss a potential move to the Allianz Arena for their client.

It is believed a transfer fee of €30m will be enough to convince Dortmund to sanction the sale of player who has only one year left on his contract with the club.

However, the Bavarians are set to face stiff competition from their former manager Louis van Gaal, who is keen to take the player to Manchester United this summer and it is believed the Red Devils have already laid down the groundwork for the deal.

Arsenal also have a long term interest in the midfielder and would like to make their presence felt if Gundogan eventually decides to leave Dortmund at the end of the season.

Dortmund are still trying to convince Gundogan to sign a new contract with them and extend his stay at the Westfalenstadion.
