Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has said that a decision on Javier Hernandez’s future at the club will only be taken at the end of the season.

The Mexican forward joined the club on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United last summer but until recently was almost certain to leave the Bernabeu after an underwhelming campaign.

However, his career at Real Madrid received a shot in the arm when he scored a late winner against Atletico Madrid last week in the Champions League quarter-final and he furthered his credentials with two more goals against Celta Vigo at the weekend.

Real Madrid have the option of making the move permanent in the summer for a transfer fee known to be around the region of €10m-€20m and there is speculation that the club are thinking about extending Hernandez’s stay at the Bernabeu.

Though Ancelotti admits that the Mexican has been a model professional and has taken his chances, he stressed that a decision on his future at the club will only be taken once the lights are out on this season.
