Dani Alves is set to disappoint his suitors by penning a new contract to remain at Barcelona, according to Spanish radio station Cadena Cope.

The Brazilian full-back is out of contract at the Camp Nou at the end of the season and has struggled to agree a new deal with the Catalan club.

As a result he has been linked with Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool – but Alves' preference is thought to have always been remaining at Barcelona.

Now it has been claimed that he has opted to stay put due to not wanting to uproot his children from Barcelona.

It is not clear what contract offer Barcelona have put on the table for Alves after he rejected a 12-month rolling deal, renewable annually for three years.

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is keen for his side to keep hold of Alves, in part due to a FIFA-imposed transfer ban which prevents the club from signing any new players until the beginning of 2016.
