Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has lavished praise on Harry Kane for his displays this season that have seen him win the PFA's Young Player of the Year award.

Kane has been a revelation for Spurs this term, scoring 30 goals in all competitions. 20 of his goals have come in the Premier League and for most of the season kept Tottenham in the hunt for a Champions League spot.

The youngster went on to make his senior England national team debut last month and scored in his first match for the Three Lions when he came on as a second half substitute against Lithuania in a Euro 2016 qualification clash.

Pochettino has lauded Kane for the way he has taken his opportunities this season, but added that it is important to handle young and upcoming prospects with caution and not to rush them.

“Harry’s done a fantastic job this season, scored 30 goals so far and it’s great for Tottenham and great for him”, the manager told his club’s site.

“He is also very young but in football, if you are young or old, it’s about performance and in Harry’s case, as a striker, it’s about scoring goals.

“Now it’s easy to speak about Harry, but the process with the younger players is always important, to be careful, to build the future every day, step by step, not to jump 10 steps in one go.

“I congratulate everyone at the club for what they have done to help Harry and at the end of the day; Harry deserves it for his performances.”
