Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has professed his love for passing football and said that it is what makes football a great game.

The Frenchman’s Arsenal team over the years have been known for their slick passing football and it has continued into his current Gunners’ team which includes the likes of Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla, who are known for having an eye for a great pass.




Wenger has always stressed building his team around good passers of the ball and his Arsenal teams have always been famous for playing eye-catching football based on quick circulation of the ball.

The Arsenal boss insisted that passing remains the essence of football and stressed that is what teams should base their style of play on.
 


“Passing is the essence of our sport”, Wenger said via Arsenal’s feed.

“It is the experience of me giving the ball to somebody; I love that because it is the basic act of generosity; to pass the ball is to be generous.”

The Frenchman stressed that the quality of the pass depends on a number of variables but one of the key factors will always be its timing and how many more options it provides to its receiver.

“Quality of the pass depends on the timing of the pass; if I am intelligent then I will give you the pass in such a way so that the next solution is available for you.

“A quality pass is something that makes the circulation of the ball fluid; it demands technical ability, it demands intelligence.”

Wenger conceded that he remains a sucker for good passers of the ball and stressed that passing is what makes football a great game.

“I am a big lover of the passer but I am a big lover of the timing of the pass.

“Our game is based on it so I encourage everybody to give a perfect ball. I am a great admirer of a good pass because basically that makes out game great.”
