Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has confirmed that he has met Manchester United target Paul Pogba.

There was speculation earlier this month that the PSG president met the French midfielder to discuss a potential switch for him to the French capital from Juventus in the summer.

Al-Khelaifi refused to confirm his meeting with the player then but in an interview with French daily Le Parisien, the PSG supremo said: “I met him he is a great talent; he is French and is also a Parisian.

“However, all the big clubs want him.”

PSG have a long term interest in the midfielder and although their spending has been curtailed by UEFA’s FFP regulations, the club are working hard behind the scenes to cobble together a deal to take Pogba to Paris in the summer.

However, the Parisians are aware that they are going to face stiff competition from some of the top European clubs such as Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, who are ready to reach deep into their pockets to snare Pogba away from Turin.

Juventus are aware of the interest surrounding Pogba’s future and though they want to hold on to him beyond the summer, they know that they won’t be able to match the financial muscle of the big European clubs.
