French striker Olivier Giroud is confident that Arsenal will further improve and will challenge for the Premier League title next season.

A 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Sunday all but extinguished Arsenal’s hopes of winning the league title this term but many believe a possible second place finish would be a sign of improvement for a team who have been fighting to just finish in the top four over the last few seasons.

Their recent run of good form has provided optimism to Arsenal supporters that they might mount a title charge next season and Giroud sees no reason why they cannot do exactly that.

Injury problems have been a recurring theme at Arsenal over the last few seasons and the forward feels that less injury troubles coupled with a few quality addition to their squad will turn them into title contenders next season.

Giroud insisted that Arsenal are always improving and further improvements next season will enable them to fight for the Premier League title.

“Hopefully if we can have less injuries, keep the same group and with maybe one or two new players, we will have a great season [next year]”, Giroud told the club’s official website.

“I know we can still improve ourselves and that is what we have been doing since I signed for Arsenal. I am proud about it and pleased with that.

“I just want to carry on like that, and I know if we keep our best players and this determination with the team spirit, we are going to join [next season’s title] race.”

Arsenal travel to the KC Stadium to take on relegation threatened Hull City next Monday.
