Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is considering a move to the Premier League at the end of next season when his contract with the club runs out.

The Germany captain has been one of the most influential figures for Bayern Munich over the years and is considered a legend at the club.

However, with his contract running out in the summer of 2016, the 30-year-old is planning life beyond the confines of the Allianz Arena.

While, the midfielder is expected to respect his contract with the club and play for them for one more season, a switch at the end of next term looks distinctly possible.

A move to the MLS has been mooted but Schweinsteiger wants to continue at the top level for a few more years and according to Sport Bild the midfielder is considering a move to the Premier League.

Manchester United have been previously linked with a move for the midfielder and Schweinsteiger shares a good personal relationship with Louis van Gaal, who previously managed him at Bayern Munich.

However, Schweinsteiger wants to play at Bayern Munich for one more season and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United would be interested in the veteran midfielder if he is available for free next summer.

The 30-year-old has won eight Bundesliga titles, seven German Cups and a Champions League amongst various other honours with Bayern Munich.

He has also earned 108 caps for Germany and played a major role in them winning the World Cup last summer.
