Barcelona and Arsenal are part of a contingent of clubs who are keeping a close watch on Sporting Lisbon full-back Cedric Soares.

Schooled at Sporting Lisbon’s youth academy, the Portuguese international has risen through the ranks at the Estadio Jose Alvalade and has established himself as one of the most crucial members of Marco Silva’s squad.

A versatile operator who can also play further up the pitch as a winger, the right-back has been attracting interest from clubs outside his homeland with some assured performances at the back in the Portuguese top flight.

Spanish giants Barcelona are known to be keen admirers of Cedric and according to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal are also keeping a close watch on his development at Sporting Lisbon.

However, both sides are expected to face stiff competition for Cedric’s signature if they make a move in the near future as clubs such as Inter Milan and Napoli are also monitoring his progress in the Portuguese top flight.
