A group of Liverpool fans have flown a banner over Anfield calling for Brendan Rodgers to be sacked and Rafael Benitez appointed at Anfield.

Liverpool were in action at Anfield against QPR in a Premier League fixture which they ultimately won 2-1, with goals from Philippe Coutinho and Steven Gerrard settling the contest in the Reds' favour.

Rodgers has disappointed with Liverpool this season, with the club having missed out on his target set before the season to win silverware, while they also look poised to miss out on his other target, a top four finish.

The Northern Irishman spent over £100m on new players last summer and has seen a comment made the previous year about Tottenham Hotspur, who spent over £100m, come back to bite him. Rodgers said that any team which spends over £100m on players should expect to be challenging for the title.

And a group of fans who are disgruntled with Rodgers have paid for a plane with a Rodgers Out banner to fly over Anfield.
