Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has stressed that he should have the final say in all transfer dealings this summer.

While the manager still has a big say in proceedings, the transfer dealings at White Hart Lane are the collective responsibility of a team of people that comprises of technical director Franco Baldini, chairman Daniel Levy, head of recruitment Paul Mitchell and chief scout Ian Broomfield.

However, Pochettino wants more leeway for him this summer and wants greater control of the transfer activity at Tottenham.

When asked who takes the final decision on the ins and outs of the club, the Tottenham boss was quoted as saying by the BBC: "The final decision? I think it should be me."

The Tottenham manager said that it is him and his coaching staff who deal with each and every player on a day-to-day basis so he must have the final say on any transfer dealings at the club.

He stressed that it is very important that he knows about the players who join the club because it makes his job easier, as he is already aware of what he is getting to work with.

"The manager and the coaching staff need to deal with the player, in the changing room or on the pitch and if the feeling is not good between us it is difficult to achieve something.

"If you bring in some players and I don't know them, maybe they are not bad players, but the feeling the player has with the coaching staff or the manager is important."

While hopes of Champions League football are evaporating rapidly, Tottenham will look to end the season on a stronger note and will take on Manchester City tomorrow at White Hart Lane.
