Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn is disappointed with goalkeeper Marco Silvestri for his comments over not being included in the Whites squad for their final match of the season yesterday.

Silvestri was one of six players to suddenly declare themselves injured ahead of Leeds' trip to face Charlton Athletic in mid-April. Redfearn, shocked at the withdrawal of six players, promoted backup goalkeeper Stuart Taylor to starting eleven duty.

Silvestri declared himself fit to face Rotherham United yesterday, but Redfearn left him out of the squad and kept faith with Taylor, something which infuriated the Italian goalkeeper.

He took to Twitter to blast the decision and Redfearn is disappointed that he did so, explaining he wants players out of the side to back those in it, rather than creating disharmony.

The Leeds boss told a press conference: "The squad won at Sheffield Wednesday last week, good win, good performance. The message has always been all along that if the side win and players play well then they keep their shirt.

"Nobody is exempt.

"You'd like to think the ones that are out of the side back their mates and work hard to try and get back in.

"I don't change the rules for different players. It's the same", Redfearn added.

Silvestri, despite being unhappy, has declared his willingness to remain at Leeds however.
