Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana wants the Reds to cause an upset by beating Chelsea next weekend in order to keep their push for a top four spot alive.

Lallana helped Liverpool grab a 2-1 win over QPR at Anfield yesterday which, combined with Manchester United's shock 1-0 defeat at home to West Brom, means the Reds are now just four points behind the Red Devils in the Premier League standings.

There are just three games left to play and Liverpool travel to Chelsea next weekend, where defeat could spell the end of their slim chance of overhauling Louis van Gaal's men.

Lallana is keen for Liverpool to make sure that does not happen by beating Jose Mourinho's men at Stamford Bridge.

"We've just got to take it one game at a time", he told LFC TV.

"We'll go to Chelsea and look to get a positive result down there. It will be difficult, but we'll go there with confidence hoping to cause an upset.

"We keep going to the end – that's the character of the lads."

Chelsea may have nothing to play for when Liverpool come to town, as they can clinch the Premier League title this afternoon by beating Crystal Palace. Alan Pardew's men then provide the opposition for Manchester United next weekend.
