Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu is hopeful that the club can find an agreement with Dani Alves over a contract extension.

Alves, who has been linked with Liverpool, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, is out of contract with Barcelona at the end of June and is an attractive proposition for a number of sides.

The veteran Brazilian full-back has so far been left cold by Barcelona's attempts to extend his contract and has appeared to be heading for the exit door.

But Bartomeu believes that as the defender wants to stay at the Camp Nou, common ground will be found.

The president told Esports3: "We have hoped for an extension, so we've been talking to him.

"His season is great. We've talked together and when both have a common goal, it's easy to find a solution."

Barcelona's last offer for Alves, which consistent of a 12-month rolling deal extendable for three seasons, did not please the full-back.

However, the Catalan giants are desperate to keep hold of Alves, in part due to being unable to sign a replacement as they continue to serve out a FIFA-imposed transfer ban.
