Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose feels that his team were much better at home yesterday against Manchester City than they were against Aston Villa last month.

The Lilywhites enjoyed 55 per cent ball possession at White Hart Lane yesterday and had five shots on target compared to the visitors' four and were unlucky not to score, thus going down 1-0 to Manuel Pellegrini's team.

Rose, who returned to action yesterday after missing the match against Southampton, insists that his team were better than they were when they faced Aston Villa at home on 11th April, having gone down 1-0 then.

For the 24-year-old the aim now will be to get all nine points from the three remaining matches in the season and go as far as possible in the race to qualify for Europe next term.

Speaking about yesterday's match, Rose told his club's official website: "There were plenty of positives to take out of the game and it was certainly much better than last time at home against Villa.

“The aim is now to go out and get nine points from the last three games of the season.”

Rose also took time to speak about the disappointment of not having scored a goal before half-time but stressed that they needed put to that behind them and believes that they did just that in the second half.

“We were also disappointed not to come in at half-time with a goal ourselves but you have to put that behind you and go again and we did that."

Mauricio Pochettino's team will play Stoke next on 9th May.
