Despite enduring a difficult first season in England, Remy Cabella is not ready to quit Newcastle United just yet.

The French midfielder arrived in England last summer on the back of an impressive season at Montpellier, where he scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 37 league appearances for the club.

However, his first campaign at Newcastle has been the polar opposite and his dismal run of form has been a key reason why the Magpies have struggled to make an impact in the Premier League this term.

Since the departure of Alan Pardew in January, Newcastle have been on a downward spiral and are currently enduring one of the worst run of forms in the club’s history with eight consecutive league defeats.

Cabella has failed to inspire the Magpies during their slump with his creative ability and though there is still a possibility that they might endure relegation this season, the Frenchman stressed that he is not ready to give up on his career at the club.

The 25-year-old said that he has made a decision to stay at Newcastle next season and told beIN Sport: “I assume I have made my choice.

“Although this has been a difficult first season for me, I am not ready to leave and I will be a Newcastle player next season.

“I am 100% sure about it and I have a contract with them.”

In 29 Premier League appearances, Cabella has scored just a solitary goal and has just two assists to his name.
