Jonas Olsson admits that West Brom got a slice of good luck with their goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford at the weekend.

Chris Brunt hit a free-kick against Louis van Gaal's men just after the hour mark in the Premier League fixture and it struck Olsson before beating David de Gea in the Manchester United goal.

Manchester United had no answer to the goal and slipped to a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Tony Pulis' men.

Olsson admits that the free-kick was one that West Brom practised, but with one big difference – he was supposed to get out of the way of the ball.

The defender told his club's site: "It was one of those lucky breaks, but that is what you need sometimes.

"We had worked on the free-kick and I was actually supposed to get out of the way.

"I was trying but I didn’t manage to get away.

"I looked one way and put it another way.

"All goals count, it wasn’t the nicest one but it will be one of the ones I remember the most", the 32-year-old added.

The defeat was Manchester United's third on the spin and Van Gaal's men are now in a poor run of form at a crucial stage of the season.

West Brom meanwhile are up to the magical 40 point mark in the Premier League and sit 13th in the table.
