AC Milan are eyeing a summer swoop for FC Porto’s Algerian winger Yacine Brahimi, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Schooled at Rennes’ youth academy, the Algerian has established himself as one of the key members of Julen Lopetegui’s Porto team since joining from Granada last summer.

A winger by trade, Brahimi is a versatile operator who can operate on both flanks and down the middle and has been attracting eyeballs with his impressive performances in the Portuguese top flight.

His showings for Porto in the Champions League attracted the interest of Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola and English giants Arsenal are also said to be keeping tabs on Brahimi.

However, AC Milan are the latest club to take note of the Algerian’s progress in Portugal and according to Portuguese daily Record, the Italian giants are plotting a summer move for Brahimi.

The Rossoneri are keen to strengthen their squad this summer to kickstart the revival of the club and believe the 25-year-old could prove to be an important piece of their jigsaw next season.

However, with more than four years left on his contract, Porto can afford to play hardball in any negotiations and AC Milan are aware that they are in no financial position to get into a bidding war with Brahimi’s suitors.
