Celtic midfielder Stefan Johansen has expressed his desire to help the Hoops qualify for the Champions League this season.

Ronny Deila’s men missed out on qualification for Europe’s elite competition after their narrow 2-1 aggregate defeat at the hands of Slovenian outfit NK Maribor in the playoffs last year.

Continental disappointment notwithstanding, Celtic have gone on to win their fourth successive Premiership title and have also collected the League Cup trophy following their defeat of Dundee United in the final in March.

The Bhoys were on course to win the domestic treble, but they were defeated in their Scottish Cup semi-final tie by Inverness Caledonian Thistle last month.

And Johansen, who has been named PFA Scotland Player of the Year for his stellar displays in Celtic's midfield this season, has said that his ambition is to play in the Champions League with the Bhoys and he is looking forward to helping them qualify for the group stage this term.
