Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has lauded team-mate Eden Hazard for the spectacular season he has had for the Blues.

Hazard’s 14 league goals and nine assists have been instrumental in helping Chelsea win their first domestic title since the 2009/10 season. He was also decisive in the Pensioners' League Cup triumph to help his team finish the season with a domestic double.




The Belgium international’s prolific performances saw him awarded the PFA Player of the Year award last month and Fabregas, who joined Chelsea at the start of the current season from Barcelona, has heaped praise on Hazard.

“He’s had a fantastic season”, the Catalan told his club’s site.
 


The 28-year-old said that he wants Hazard to perform even better next season, adding that the Belgian elevates his team to a different level.

“I want him to do it again next year and be even better. He is the main guy, in my mind.

“He’s the guy that makes this team be better than what it is.”

Chelsea crashed out of the Champions League at the round of 16 stage after losing to Paris Saint-Germain on away goals rule and Fabregas feels that Hazard needs raise his game in Europe’s elite competition from next season onwards.

“Next year he has to prove himself in the Champions League as well because he’s capable of it.

“I am sure he will give many big nights of glory to this club.”
