Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has conceded that Real Madrid will start as favourites in their Champions League clash tonight, but he has urged his side to attack the reigning European champions.

Allegri’s team defeated Sampdoria 1-0 last weekend to win their fourth successive Italian title and are scheduled to face Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie due to be played at the Juventus Stadium tonight.

The Juventus boss feels that being the reigning European champions the Madrid giants have a better chance of winning the tie and progressing to the final.

“It's a semi-final, they are champions of Europe so compared with us they could have a slightly better chance”, Allegri was quoted as saying by UEFA.

“In games like these you've got to aim if not to play a perfect game, then certainly to do fantastic things in attack and defence.”

Expecting an attacking game, the 47-year-old further advised his team to attack and take the initiative in the game.

Both sides are missing important players in midfield with Real Madrid set to play without Luka Modric and Juventus missing out on Paul Pogba due to an injury and Allegri admitted that the presence of the two midfield stalwarts would have made for a better spectacle.

“I don't think Juve against Real and Real against Juve will both finish 0-0, so we've got to do particularly well in attack.

“It would have been better if Modric and Pogba were involved.

“We hope to have Pogba back for the return leg.”
