Leeds United defender Sol Bamba has spoken warmly of the club's head coach Neil Redfearn, someone he believes is a good man.

The Ivorian central defender linked up with Redfearn at Leeds in the winter transfer window after joining the club on loan from Palermo.

Bamba instantly found a spot in Redfearn's side and earned regular praise from the head coach.

Redfearn's position at the club into the summer and next season is uncertain, but Bamba, who himself is keen to stay at Elland Road, believes the head coach should be kept on.

"Everyone can see that he knows the club from the bottom. He brought some good young players into the first team, he's a Leeds fan and I think there's no other man who is better for the job", Bamba told LUTV.

"In training and in the games he gives everyone a big lift. He's a good man and I think that's important; he manages everyone very good and I think the secret to being a good manager is to be a good man first.

"And he is, so I really hope he will stay at the club."

Bamba himself is waiting to discover whether he will still be at Elland Road next season as the Whites have yet to do a deal with Palermo to keep him on a permanent basis.

Leeds ended their Championship campaign at the weekend with a 0-0 home draw against Rotherham United and have finished 15th in the Championship standings, well clear of the relegation zone, with which they were flirting when Redfearn took charge.
