Tottenham Hotspur Under-21 boss Ugo Ehiogu is pleased with the performance of his team in their 3-3 draw against Manchester City yesterday.

Nathan Oduwa’s first half brace had given Spurs a significant advantage against Manchester City at the City Football Academy yesterday afternoon, but the north Londoners were pegged back by two quickfire strikes form the hosts. Harry Winks again gave visitors the lead early in the second half, but the young Lilywhites couldn’t hold on to their lead and came away with a solitary point.

Ehiogu is pleased with the effort his charges put in against their rivals and feels that his team did well against the Citizens, who like to dominate ball possession.

“Nobody can fault the hard work that the players put into the game because it was a test of football and possession which we’ve not been used to”, he told his club’s site.

“I don’t think there’s another team in the league that tries to dominate the ball like City, the way they play forces you to react and I thought we did that fairly well today.

“There were moments where we should have capitalised and won the game, but if you take away Luke [McGee]’s saves they’ve had some chances as well.

“You have to take all those incidents into account when looking at the game overall.”

The draw keeps Ehiogu’s team eighth in the table with 26 points from their 20 games and they have Fulham at home and Everton away in their remaining two games of the season.
