Vurnon Anita says he is not aware of talk that Newcastle United want to use him as bait to snare Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie.

The Magpies have been linked with moving to snap up pass-master Clasie, with some suggestions that they will tempt Feyenoord to sell by offering ex-Ajax man Anita as part of the deal.

But the tough-tackling midfielder claims to be in the dark about such an arrangement and insists he wants to stay put at St. James' Park despite the club's struggles in the Premier League.

"That's nothing I know about", Anita told Voetbal International when asked about a potential swap move to take him to Feyenoord.

"Playing regularly is my first goal. Now I'd like to stay with Newcastle in the Premier League", he continued.
