Celtic manager Ronny Deila is aiming to add goals to his squad over the summer transfer window.

Deila has led Celtic to the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Premiership in his first season in charge at Paradise, but has a blot on his record due to not having been able to take the club into the Champions League group stage.

The Norwegian is aiming to change that next year and is now thinking about the summer transfer window and snapping up players who can score more goals.

Asked about bringing players in at a press conference, he replied: "We are looking at every aspect, we need a team that scores a lot of goals."

While adding players is a priority for Deila, also keeping his star performers is a target. And none more so than centre-back Virgil van Dijk.

"I want to keep him, he is such an important player for us", the Celtic manager explained.

"He is a very good footballer, but we can make him better."

Deila's men narrowly missed out on winning a domestic treble this season, exiting the Scottish Cup at the semi-final stage. They also reached the last 32 in the Europa League after progressing through the competition following their exit from the Champions League.
