Ronny Deila wants Celtic to be "as Scottish as possible", but admits he is prepared to dip into the foreign transfer market if he cannot sign the quality of player he wants.

The Norwegian has led the Bhoys to the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup in his first season in charge, but disappointment has lingered on the European front as Celtic failed to reach the Champions League group stage and then exited the Europa League in the last 32 round.

Deila is already plotting his summer transfer strategy and admits he would like to ensure Celtic as a team are as Scottish as possible.

The manager told a press conference: "Quality is the most important thing and if the quality is similar with Scotland and the other places that we're looking then we will choose the Scottish player if it's possible to get him.

"We want to be as Scottish as possible, but we know also that the demands are very high and we have to look abroad to get in quality", Deila added.
