Inter Milan are eyeing a summer swoop for Slovakia captain and Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel.

With his contract expiring at the end of next season, Liverpool are desperate to tie down the defender to a new deal and his agent has revealed that the club have placed a fresh three-year offer on his client’s table.

Though Skrtel is keen to extend his stay Anfield, he is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal and that is encouraging his suitors to make a move for him this summer.

Rafael Benitez’s Napoli are rumoured to be interested in acquiring his services but there is another Italian club who are keeping a close watch on the Slovakian’s contract tussle with the Reds.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are intently tracking developments regarding Skrtel on Merseyside and Roberto Mancini is keen to get his hands on the defender this summer.
