Juventus are ready to up their bid to around €25m to sign Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel.

Witsel’s commanding performances in the middle of the park for Zenit haven’t gone unnoticed over the years and it seems the player is finally ready to leave Russia this summer.

Juventus have been on the Belgian international’s trail for some time now and have been keeping a close watch on his performances over the last few months.

While they were initially planning an €18m outlay for the 26-year-old, according to Tuttosport the Bianconeri are ready to up their bid to €25m to get their man this summer.

However, Zenit are playing hardball in the negotiations and are not ready to accept an offer below the €30m mark. The Italian champions have been in constant touch with the Zenit hierarchy over the last few days and are confident of thrashing out an agreement for Witsel well before the transfer window opens in July.
