Liverpool have not yet submitted a bid for Inter midfielder Mateo Kovacic, according to Sky Italia.

Brendan Rodgers is thought to want the talented Croatian at Anfield for next season as he seeks to fill the big shoes of departing skipper Steven Gerrard.

Kovacic has also been linked with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona, but it is Liverpool who have been claimed to be at the head of the queue to sign him, with a bid ready.

But one has not landed with Inter yet. Indeed, the Nerazzurri have fielded no bids for Kovacic to date.

Inter are keen to keep hold of the midfielder, but are thought to be ready to consider a big-money offer as they seek to rebuild their side in the summer.
