Ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash against Barcelona, Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has said that he will look to maximise his team’s strengths as they attempt reach the final.

The Bavarian giants will play the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie at the Camp Nou tonight and the Allianz Arena will host the second leg the following week.




Guardiola oversaw four years of unprecedented success during his time as manager of Barcelona, before he took up the Bayern Munich job and he has dubbed tonight's encounter, which will see him manage a team against the Catalan outfit for the first time, special.

“It's wonderful to be back. I have lots of memories”, he was quoted as saying by UEFA.
 


“Obviously it's very special for me because I was at this club for many years. Now I am with Bayern and I am here for the match tomorrow. That's my job and I have to do my best.”

Talking about tonight’s opponents, the Catalan said that it is difficult to find any weaknesses in Luis Enrique’s side.

Guardiola added that he will focus on maximising the strengths of his team as they look to qualify for the Champions League final for the third time in four years.

“This is a Champions League semi-final with two of the best teams in Europe.

“It won't be easy but it wasn't easy getting here. I am delighted to be here for this semi-final with a great chance to get to Berlin.

“It's difficult to find a weakness in Barcelona.

“We will try to maximise our strengths and find their weaknesses. Their players have been together a long time and know one another very well.”
