Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda has admitted that he is open to making a switch to the Premier League.

The 30-year-old French international has been linked with a move away from France for a number of years but nothing has ever materialised and he has continued to serve Marseille, whom he joined in the summer of 2008.

Tottenham are believed to be looking for a new number one in the transfer market as they fear they might lose Hugo Lloris, who is a target for Manchester United this summer.

The Red Devils want Lloris as a replacement for David de Gea, who could join Real Madrid this summer.

The north London club are known to be interested in signing Mandanda at the end of the season as they believed the Frenchman has the ability to fill his compatriot’s boots at White Hart Lane.

While Mandanda has a strong bond with Marseille, the Frenchman has admitted that he would like to play in the Premier League at some point in his career.

“I like the Premier League as a competition”, the Frenchman told Canal +

“There are a number of top teams in it.”

Mandanda has earned 19 caps for France and is Lloris’ understudy for Les Bleus.

His contract with Marseille runs out at the end of next season.
