Manchester United target and Wolfsburg playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has chosen to remain coy on the speculation surrounding his future.

The former Chelsea man has been one of the standout performers of this term’s Bundesliga and his 10 goals and 20 assists in 31 league games are set to carry the Wolves into next season’s Champions League.

His performances at the Volkswagen Arena have not gone unnoticed and there are a number of top European clubs who have been keenly following his exploits in the German top flight this season.

Louis van Gaal is known to be keen to add De Bruyne’s silken playmaking skills to the Manchester United squad this summer but Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be the top contenders to land the Belgian.

Wolfsburg are confident that they will be able to hold on to the player for one more season but when asked about another season being a certainty, De Bruyne told Kicker: “Under normal circumstances, yes.

“But you never know in football but right now I am saying that I will stay at Wolfsburg.”

The Belgian also refused to give any assurances on his future at the club and said: “I think it's stupid when players say that they are definitely staying and then they leave after the first offer.”
