West Ham have approached former Manchester United manager David Moyes’ agent to discuss the possibility of his client taking over the reins of the club from Sam Allardyce this summer, according to Spanish daily Sport.

The Scot joined Real Sociedad earlier in the season and has steered the club away from the relegation zone in La Liga. He contract with La Real runs out at the end of next season.

Meanwhile, Allardyce’s contract is set to expire this summer at Upton Park and the Hammers are believed to be not too keen on offering him a new deal after the team’s form took a nosedive in the second half of their campaign.

The West Ham hierarchy are looking for a replacement for the former Bolton boss and they have contacted Moyes’ agent to find out if his client would be interested in taking up the manager’s role at Upton Park next season.

But the former Manchester United boss is believed to be happy with life at La Real and is keen to finish the duration of his contract with the club before thinking about a return to the Premier League.

Moyes is also believed to be on a lucrative contract at the Anoeta and West Ham would like him to take a pay cut if he decides to move to the club this summer.

Newcastle United are also interested in acquiring the former Everton manager’s services, but will only make a move for him if they stay in the Premier League next season.
