Lazio are considering making a bid to take Liverpool forward Fabio Borini back to Italy.

Borini rejected the chance to join either Sunderland or QPR last summer, opting to stay put at Liverpool despite being told he would enjoy only limited playing time.

Liverpool are again expected to make Borini available for transfer this summer and Lazio are looking closely at the former Roma man.

Lazio currently sit third in Serie A and on course for the Champions League which has sparked their interest in Borini, according to Italian daily Il Messaggero.

So far this season Borini has clocked up 18 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, but has scored just a single goal in the process.

Rodgers splashed around £10.3m to snap up Borini and Liverpool will be looking to recoup a large chunk if he is sold this coming summer.
