West Ham are closing in on Pedro Obiang, with the player's club Sampdoria looking at an €8m windfall for someone they only splashed €130,000 to sign.

The midfielder is on West Ham's wanted list and the Hammers are pushing hard to ensure that the Spaniard plays his football in England next term.




According to Il Secolo XIX, Obiang could well end up at West Ham, with the Hammers looking at paying Sampdoria €8m for the midfielder, a sum the Italian outfit cannot turn down.

Sampdoria are already thinking of how a windfall of €8m could be reinvested over the summer transfer window.
 


The 23-year-old was plucked from Atletico Madrid's youth ranks by Sampdoria in 2008, completing his footballing education in Italy.

He made his debut for Sampdoria in 2010 under coach Domenico Di Carlo, turning out against Juventus.

Obiang has been an ever present for Sampdoria so far this season, clocking up 33 appearances in all competitions for the 1992 European Cup finalists.

In total the midfielder has made 136 appearances for Sampdoria.
