Newly promoted Premier League outfit Bournemouth are keen to sign Nantes defender Papy Djilobodji this summer.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe is already preparing for life in the English top flight and is identifying players to add to his squad which will enable them to survive in the Premier League next season.

One of the players being discussed within the walls of Dean Court is Nantes defender Djilobodji. The Senegalese international’s contract expires at the end of next season and he is believed to be looking for a move this summer.

Bournemouth are keen to get their hands on the player, who might be available for an affordable price this summer because of his contract situation, and according to L’Equipe, the club hierarchy met the player and Nantes officials yesterday to thrash out a deal for the 26-year-old.

However, the Premier League’s new boys are expected to face stiff competition for Djilobodji’s signature from another English club as Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is also known to be interested in the defender.
