Willem II coach Jurgen Streppel admits he is fearing the summer transfer window as it may bring offers which cannot be refused for left-back Mitchell Dijks.

The Ajax youth product has been in superb form for Willem II this season and his progress has not gone unnoticed, with scouts regularly checking up on his performances.

Scottish champions Celtic are keen on Dijks, while Feyenoord lead the Dutch contingent aiming to keep the left-back in the Eredivisie.

And Streppel is fearful, knowing that every player has their price. The coach also lauded the defender's ability, ranking him as alongside PSV left-back Jetro Willems.

"Everyone knows the numbers, so they can just call. Anyway, everyone has their price", the Willem II coach told the Brabants Dagblad.

"He has been a sensation. Big, very strong and fast. He can defend, build and attack.

"There are not so many good left-backs", Streppel continued.

"After Jetro Willems [of PSV Eindhoven] comes Mitchell Dijks, I think."

The coach also took time to warn Dijks off moving to a club at which he would not be guaranteed playing time, arguing that in such an eventuality, the left-back would be better off staying put at Willem II.

"He needs to play. He can do that here. So it would be good if he stayed."

Dijks, 22, has been capped by the Netherlands at Under-16, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level.
