Arsenal have announced the details of the 2015 Emirates Cup, the pre-season tournament which will be part of their preparations for the 2015/16 season.

The Gunners will lock horns with French giants Lyon, Spanish outfit Villarreal and Bundesliga club Wolfsburg at the Emirates Stadium.




The tournament will be staged across the weekend of 25th and 26th July.

The opening match of the tournament sees Wolfsburg, for whom former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner now plays, take on Spanish side Villarreal, with a kick off of 2pm.
 


That game is followed by Arsenal playing their first match, with Lyon providing the opposition for a 4:20pm kick off.

On the Sunday, Lyon then lock horns with Villarreal at 2pm, while Arsenal close out the tournament by playing Wolfsburg.

Teams are awarded three points for a win and one for a draw. The Emirates Cup also awards teams a point for every goal they score in the tournament, in an effort to promote attacking football.

Shots on target will be used to separate sides who are level on points and goal difference.

The Emirates Cup will be presented to the winning team after the final match on Sunday.
