Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has refused to shed light on his club’s reported interest in signing Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech this summer.

Cech has fallen behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and the Czech Republic international is eager to move to another club in search of regular first team action.

The 32-year-old has been claimed to have permission from Chelsea to speak to other clubs with a view to a move to another club this summer, and the Gunners have been reported to have held serious talks with the goalkeeper.

The long-serving Chelsea custodian has also been reported to be interested in joining a London-based club as he doesn’t want to uproot his family, who are based in the city.

However, Wenger has refused to be drawn into questions regarding a possible move for Cech, moving onto the subject after tackling talk of a move for Liverpool's Raheem Sterling.

Asked about Liverpool potentially refusing to sell Sterling, he was quoted as saying by his club's site: “They have the right to decide what they want but at the end of the day, in our jobs you need the agreement of the player as well."

And Wenger gave the same answer when asked about a move for Cech, replying: "There again, I can only repeat what I told you.”

Cech has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season.
